Holiday Inn Express & Suites Byron by IHG

After a long drive from Florida, my daughter and I arrived around 10:30 at night. The parking lot was nearly full because several big trucks with trailers were taking up spaces. We found a spot, but a group of men were drinking and hanging around nearby, which made us uncomfortable. The hotel had a strange smell, and I was worried the elevator might get stuck. We paid $200 for Thursday night, then saw online that the same room with taxes would have been $157. It felt like we were overcharged because we were exhausted. The Wi-Fi and TV didn't work in our room either. We won't stay here on another trip. I was too tired to pack up and find another place that night.

Everything was clean and worked well, and those beds were so comfortable I didn't want to get up. We checked in at 2 a.m. after I'd mistakenly booked for the following night. The woman at the desk fixed it immediately and got us into a room quickly. I kept going back to the car for things I'd forgotten, probably five times, and she greeted me with a smile each time. Even at 3 a.m. she turned on the breakfast water machine so I could get cold water. A 10/10 stay.

The breakfast area was tidy, and the housekeeping staff were really nice. Check-in with the front office was easy, too. Excellent service and a great stay.

Getting there was easy, and there were plenty of places to eat nearby. My room was very clean, and the staff made me feel welcome and were happy to help. I was very pleased with the stay and would come back.
