Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbus - Worthington by IHG

I’ve never been this disappointed in a Holiday Inn. The dirty HVAC filters were awful, and when I raised it with the front desk in the morning, the response made the whole stay worse. He said I should have asked to move the night before, but another room might have had the same problem. I’d already cleaned the filter and just needed to sleep. I wanted compensation for taking care of something that should have been done by the hotel. He said he had no authority and wouldn’t contact anyone who did. Everyone deserves clean air. The filters in each room should be cleaned daily, not left until a maintenance person gets to them. This place had potential, but the filthy air and terrible service ruined it.

We didn’t use the pool, though we would have if there’d been a hot tub. Breakfast was better than other continental breakfasts I’ve had. Check-in was easy through a reservation I made on the IHG app, and my husband was able to pick up a couple of beers at the desk, which we appreciated. Our suite was clean, the TV worked well, and the king bed was extremely comfortable.

After a really awful stay at the Wyndham Columbus, this hotel was a welcome change. I had a very pleasant, relaxing visit here. The room was cleaned consistently every day, and the staff were accommodating. I tried to call and get the name of the receptionist who helped me just before 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving, before his shift ended, but we got disconnected. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone.

We thought this would be a safe place to get some rest, but our car window was smashed on the property around 4 a.m. Security and police did nothing, and we weren’t given a report or any feedback. A police officer told us there was nothing they could do. I’m very disappointed we chose this hotel. You’d be better off sleeping in an empty Walmart parking lot than staying somewhere where customers can be targeted on the property.
