Broadbent Inn and Suites

The room was very clean and the bed was good, and breakfast was included and great value. There was a strong ammonia smell through the hotel, unfortunately. The check-in clerk seemed not very competent, and despite asking repeatedly, I never got my "Choice Points" for this stay. I'll have to call to sort it out.

My family had been driving all day, and about 30 minutes from home my toddler urgently needed a restroom. Since it was Sunday, nearby gas stations and businesses had closed early. I went into this hotel to ask to use the bathroom, but a blonde woman who looked to be in her 60s refused and sent me toward a place three miles away. It was a simple, urgent need for a child, and the lack of basic humanity was shocking and deeply disappointing. I'm grateful when people are loud about their racism, because it makes moments like this painfully clear. Her lack of empathy and compassion was obvious.

The woman working the night counter was wonderful, and the hotel is convenient for people coming off I-24, with everything close by. But that's the only positive. The pool was closed by the Health Department, there's no elevator despite the building being only two stories, and the room stayed musty even after we turned the temperature down. We had to remove the plugs from the sink and tub to use them. The hairdryer didn't work, and the ironing board collapsed when used. It wasn't worth the nightly price.

A decent motel for the night. It was quiet, non-smoking, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Several fast food places and Cracker Barrel are within walking distance.
