The view was lovely, and the place has some charm, but the room was extremely hot when we arrived and there was no air conditioning. We also learned after booking that breakfast wasn't included. The TV wasn't great, and the mattress in room two left our backs sore by morning. We were there for our wedding night, and while the all-digital setup felt a little strange, I didn't mind it. Still, it wasn't worth nearly $300 a night.

We stayed two days in Room 7, a spacious room with lovely furnishings and a comfortable sofa looking out toward the bay. The shared balcony is a wonderful spot for sunrise or sunset, with beautiful reflections on the water. Inside, the antique furniture and thoughtful details give the place a lot of character, and the common rooms are large and beautifully presented. Check-in was careful but efficient, and the staff were very friendly. It's a remote spot, but easy enough to reach, and a larger room is worth considering for a romantic, relaxing break. Cama Beach Cafe and State Park have laid-back forest and ocean views, and there are good restaurants nearby. Camano Island really does feel like a magic island. I plan to come back. I’ll echo something I read before our stay: don't let negative reviews put you off if you're expecting a European-style experience rather than luxury and first-class service.

The internet was out for my whole stay, and cell service was so limited that I had to drive into town just to load anything. On the second night, there were reports of rooms losing power, and the owner's father arrived and asked whether my room had power. I won't return. It felt like a waste of money, especially since even budget motels offer more. Some of the problems in older reviews seem to have gone unaddressed for years. I don't know how the place stays in business, unless it's because travel sites still give it a better listing. I booked through Delta Stays expecting something more reputable, but the place felt deserted when I arrived. The grounds looked pretty, though badly neglected, with a lot of potential for the gardens. Entry was through a digital lock, and there were no employees around. Near the small desk were a coffee pot and kettle, plus what seemed to be a bistro room that had apparently been closed for a long time, even though breakfast had been mentioned. The interior is attractive but dated. A friend found some history about the property that isn't on its site, including that it was once a nursing home and is supposedly haunted. I joked on the first night that my room or toothbrush was haunted, but that's another story. There was also what looked like an old bar with only bottled water on it, and a lounge with a fireplace that I never saw lit and couldn't figure out how to turn on. My room, number 2, was just inside the entrance. The room lock was digital too, and the access codes arrived well ahead of time. I hope they change them between guests. The room was smaller than I'd expected, which was fine, but the robes in the closet felt like rough, cheap towels. The bathroom was dated but not awful. The bulbs didn't even match, the shower and showerhead needed a thorough cleaning, and the showerhead had heavy scale buildup. The mirror was chipped, with sharp edges that could be unsafe if you're not careful. The dresser looked antique-style but wasn't, and moisture had warped its top. The TV on it was tiny and had an old, low-resolution picture. Neither the bed nor the bedding was very comfortable. The patio hot tub was smaller than I expected, and overgrown hedges blocked part of the view. Old comments suggest that hedge issue has been around for a while. The fixtures had dim, old-style bulbs. There was no fridge, microwave, or coffee maker in the room. I had to go to the office area to make coffee myself, and there didn't seem to be coffee prepared for guests in the morning. I still couldn't find staff then. The sliding-door curtains were falling apart, difficult to close, and didn't give full privacy. The door itself didn't lock properly, with only a flimsy piece of wood holding it.

We brought our family of 15 to the Camano Island Inn in August 2025, and it worked beautifully for a family gathering. Having private rooms and bathrooms for everyone is unusual, and the whole family enjoyed staying together there. The upstairs and downstairs decks gave us lovely water views, and we could walk down to the shore and along the coast. We used the two living rooms for games, and the big dining table made it easy to eat together and share hobbies. In the evenings, the fire pits were perfect for roasting chocolate and marshmallows for s'mores. My wife and I arranged the trip with our sons' families and their children, and she hired a chef for one special dinner to celebrate my big birthday with our children and grandchildren. It was a wonderful night. Celin, the inn Manager, was great to work with while we planned, and made sure we had the supplies for that dinner. Charleen helped each day with laundry, accommodations, and paper supplies, and kept the Inn very clean. She even let my son borrow some of her baby toys for our two-year-old grandson. She was so thoughtful. Celin also got us a blender for family smoothies and shared helpful information about local stores, restaurants, shopping, and things to do. We'd recommend the Camano Island Inn to anyone planning time together with a big family.

We spent hours reading and playing games upstairs, looking out over the water. It was quiet and relaxing, just right for unplugging and recharging. We brought breakfast food and used the shared fridge without any trouble. Staff answered our questions and requests quickly, and the water bottles, snacks, and coffee maker were appreciated. Highly recommend.
