Sand Pebbles Inn

It’s a nice step up from an average motel, and the service was nice, but there are a few catches. EV charging is locked, so you can only charge when someone is at the front desk. If you come back from dinner after 9 pm, they might let you charge after staff leave, but it depends on the case. Our mattress was a little lumpy and old. The “fireplace” is electronic, with no real fire. Upstairs ocean-view rooms have no outdoor space, while the downstairs ocean-view rooms have a small sitting area outside. Breakfast delivered to the room is convenient, though early risers may find the first delivery, between 7:30 and 8:30 am, a bit late. It’s nothing fancy and comes in a brown paper bag.

We only stayed one night, but it felt so comfortable and homey that we kept mentioning it. We slept really well with the windows open, cool Pacific air coming in and waves crashing across the street. Breakfast delivered right to the door was a lovely touch. If we travel along the PCH again, we’ll definitely stay here.

The ocean views and easy walk to the state park made this a fabulous spot for our Cambria getaway. The paths by the water are raised decks and great for walking. I’d recommend paying extra for an ocean or partial ocean view. It was worth it to hear the water while falling asleep and see those amazing sunsets. Breakfast is delivered for free, and we chose a breakfast burrito and yogurt parfait. The room also had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. A happy surprise was the homemade oatmeal cookies. Madeline’s, the cute little wine bar next door, had a small selection of tasty food. We’d definitely stay again.

We stayed with our family for “second” Christmas, and it was nothing less than amazing. The room was beautiful, the staff were on point, and breakfast was so good. I was able to walk my daughter over to the beach, too.
