Courtyard by Marriott Boston-Cambridge

The location was the reason I came back several times. It was clean enough, and the front desk person I'd gotten to know over those visits was always nice and helpful. But after finding a mouse in my room this last time, I'm done. I had to move rooms late at night, and management never called to apologize. They said they might email, but all I got was a generic survey request. No compensation, either. Sadly, I won't return.

The staff really made this stay, especially Shaon, who went out of his way to make things wonderful. Daley (sp) and Sandra were kind and helpful, as was the housekeeping manager we met in the hall. Two other associates responded so nicely to my requests at night, though I didn't catch their names. We were here for the Head of the Charles Regatta at Harvard, and the hotel is right on the river, about a 20 minute walk along the path to the event. Our clean, comfortable room had lots of natural light and a lovely view of the river and boats. It's quiet and away from the crowds while still being on the river. I'd highly recommend it. Thanks to all the wonderful employees!

I was deeply disappointed by the billing service. The hotel restaurant put a false $14 charge on my invoice, and I called twice about it. Each time I was told someone would call back, but nobody did. On my third call I chose Accounts, and no one answered. I've never had service this bad at any of the Marriot hotels. The location is fantastic, centrally placed with a great Charles River view. The rooms are a bit old, but not too bad.

The room was nice and the location worked well, but breakfast was ridiculous, $7 for a bowl of cereal. We also politely asked for extra pillows, and none arrived even days later. Without those breakfast prices and the ignored pillow request, I'd have given it five stars.
