I keep choosing this place because it has what I need, feels friendly, and is good value. I’ve stayed many times and think it’s the best value in the Square. The rooms are immaculate and well maintained, and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and everything works, though they’re tiny and have no surface for toiletries. There’s a pleasant lobby where you can work or read, plus free coffee. Great breakfast spots are nearby. On-site parking is convenient, though the spaces are tiny; the price is comparable to other lots, and you can come and go for a flat fee. It isn’t luxurious, and the nearby Charles Hotel offers more space and amenities if you want a more indulgent stay, but this is almost always my preference.

The staff were top-notch, and the rooms were nicely maintained. Being next to Harvard made it very convenient to visit my daughter, even in the snow. I enjoyed the complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby. I do wish they had local restaurant partnerships for delivery, perhaps with menus in the rooms to point guests to recommendations.

I liked the motion-activated night lights, so guests don’t trip when getting up in the middle of the night. The mattress was fabulously comfortable, and the desk chair was adjustable. There’s an iron and ironing board in each room, along with a hair dryer. On the first floor, the snack area has free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, plus other treats for sale. Upstairs on the second floor there’s a vending machine with reasonable prices and an ice machine. Staff were always willing to handle my concerns professionally. I’d stay again.

The rooms were very clean, and while they’re on the small side, they had what we needed. I liked how close everything I needed was, and the customer service and check-in and checkout were easy. You can hear everything through the thin walls, but I was okay with that since I wasn’t in the room much.

Harvard Square is right outside, with plenty of food around and a train ride to the rest of the area. The train station is less than a minute’s walk from the hotel door. I stayed one night after a concert so I wouldn’t have to drive home, and this cute, basic hotel was in an amazing location. Parking is available on site for an extra fee. Our room was small but well appointed and very clean, with a comfortable bed. It was in good shape apart from some peeling paint on the wall by the shower, apparently from water. The shower was open glass. I slept great. The walls seemed thin, and our connecting door let us hear the neighbors a bit, though it was quiet at night. There were three of us; with four, it would feel pretty cramped, so I’d choose a bigger suite then. The room felt like a European or NYC hotel in size. It worked well for one night or a weekend, and I’d stay again for a short trip. The picture I added is a view from the front of the hotel overlooking Harvard Square.
