Schooner's Cove Inn

We loved having breakfast by the large sliding glass doors, watching the waves and wildlife. The rooms are spacious and have gas fireplaces and full kitchenettes with a cooktop, full-size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, cookware, and utensils. Every room has a balcony and an oceanfront view, and the hotel is right on the beach. After trying several other places in the area, we decided this is the best place to stay in Canyon Beach. Since discovering Schooners, we’ve come back for our annual trip. It’s also just a block from downtown, which is handy because parking there is limited. Most of all, the owners and staff are consistently so genuinely nice. The customer service is hard to beat.

We’re already planning another visit this spring. The beds and bedding were very comfortable, and the suite was spacious, clean, and well equipped. We had an ocean-view suite with two queen beds and a gas fireplace that kept the chill away during our mid-January stay. The kitchenette had a regular-size coffee maker, a two-burner stovetop, and a larger-than-expected under-counter fridge. It was stocked with dishtowels, plates, and real glassware, not plastic. The bathroom had plenty of towels, tissues, soap, and a hair dryer. Even the water-saving toilet flushed powerfully, and its seat closed slowly without slamming. Thoughtful touches were everywhere, from bright bedside reading lamps and dimmer controls to a dimmable chandelier over the dining table. There was a TV in both the living area and bedroom, though we rarely watch TV with the ocean right outside. The inn sits directly on the Pacific Ocean sand, giving it a private feel, yet downtown Cannon Beach is a short walk away. We arrived before the usual check-in time, and the concierge checked with housekeeping, found our suite was ready, and let us check in right away.

We stayed for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The view was amazing, and the family suite was roomy with a great little kitchen. The women in the office were super nice, and they even gave us a bag of candy and snacks plus a bottle of champagne to celebrate. We’d definitely stay again!

Everyone I met, from maintenance and housekeeping to the front desk, seemed genuinely invested in making sure I had a good stay. They were all lovely and helpful. At Schooner's Cove Inn, my room was clean and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchenette, cozy fireplace, and stunning ocean view. The hotel is right on the beach and only a short walk from shops and restaurants.
