Knights Inn Ashland

The location worked well, and the rooms were clean, though they still had a musty smell. We stayed one night and paid $80, even though the online rate was $65. Our checkout receipt showed $65, so the pricing doesn't add up. They’re working on remodeling, and the place seems fine for a night or two.

I nearly stayed, but turned around as soon as I walked in. The odor was awful and roaches were crawling around. The room looked like it belonged in a 1970s horror movie.

The phone seemed to be there just for show. We were told the hotel shuttle would take us to the music festival, but instead two guys in a pickup truck were trying to hustle money. Our tub was dirty and wouldn't drain; the front desk said someone would fix it in the morning, but nobody came during our two-day stay.

There was a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and shampoo, but also flies. The room itself was okay, though the floor underneath was crumbling, the door had a gap at the bottom, and the air conditioner was extremely loud. Cat food sat outside our door, with people and cats two doors down, and someone there was coughing badly. The untagged abandoned cars and weeds added to the atmosphere. Anyone with animal allergies should stay away. It felt like a sketchy place where sketchy people live.
