Holiday Motel

Room 8 was a suite with its own balcony, and the furnishings were beautiful. It’s an older motel, but it has a lovely rustic charm. The owner is great. Customer service from the manager, though, is nonexistent. Looks can fool you. When we pulled up, I said I wasn’t getting out of the car. It was 1:30 in the morning, and my husband told me to get my butt out.

Holiday Motel was such a good find, and a huge blessing at the time. People are missing out because it was much better than I expected. The bed was heaven, and the room was very clean, with plenty of towels, a microwave, and a fridge. I loved the homely atmosphere and rustic feel. Thanks, Holiday, this was far better than anywhere I’ve stayed recently. KUDOS!

We had two rooms reserved, but when we arrived around supper time one still wasn’t ready. In one room the ceiling fan didn’t work, and they already knew about it but hadn’t fixed it. It also had only two of its three bulbs. The bedding was old, and the air conditioning was poor. They turned it off while we were out for the day. After we made coffee the first morning, they left the used grounds and didn’t put out fresh coffee. The outlets were so limited we had to unplug the AC to use the hair blower. There was no hot shower water until we mentioned it the next day. We wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone. It was a real disappointment, and doesn’t compare with an average motel. I don’t know how it got a four- or five-star rating.

The gentleman working there was very nice and tried to help however he could, and the place was clean. Still, after two nights, I don’t think we’d stay again. It’s in a great location, but it’s extremely old. The owner has had it for 26 years, and the building shows its age. There hasn’t been serious updating, just the bare minimum, and it really needs a complete makeover. Other reviews said people paid $85 a night, and my brother, who was staying there too, paid $85. We were charged $95. It’s definitely not a $100-a-night hotel.
