Hyatt Place Canton hotel

The traffic outside makes it noisy, which is the main downside. Inside, the rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast was good, and the staff are friendly and outgoing.

This is my go-to when I'm in the area for business. It's in a busy location, but the white noise machine in each room keeps the noise from being an issue. The staff are consistently courteous and professional, and there's a decent gym and pool.

After complaining to my bank, I got my money back. If a company makes reimbursement seem impossible, contact your bank. A representative at Hyatt International was the one who suggested it, nobody at the Hyatt North Canton. Reviews appear to be answered as though the owner is replying, but none of those people owns the North Canton Hyatt. Some may work for a company that manages hotels for Hyatt International. It's sad if they're trying to build a career by denying customers legitimate refunds. I was happy to have stayed there in the past, and my experience had been average. But my recent attempt to get reimbursed changed that. I had booked the night of September 28, then a family member had a serious problem and asked me to stay with her instead. I called that afternoon to say I wouldn't be coming. Since then, getting a refund felt like virtual ping-pong. The assistant manager first said she sympathized but only Expedia could refund me; the general manager said the same, even though Expedia had already paid the hotel. Expedia's escalation team told the general manager to refund me, and then he gave a new reason for refusing: I hadn't cancelled 48 hours ahead. Who knows 48 hours in advance that a family member will need support? What if I'd had a serious car accident less than three hours before check-in? Apparently the general manager expects customers to be clairvoyant, or can provide winning lottery numbers instead of a refund. Take any response from the general manager or assistant manager with a grain of salt. I feel they've played games with me, and doubt they'd handle a response to this review any differently. Their actual response proved me right. Do employees there have to call in two days ahead to get sick leave reimbursed? Rules for me, but not for them.

I won't be coming back, and I'll probably avoid Hyatt in general. I needed to dry some clothes that got soaked in heavy rain, but reaching the laundry took ages. First I called the front desk because there was no information in the room. They put me on hold, then came back to ask me to hold longer; after five minutes I gave up. Hyatt guest services took my name, check-in date, and confirmation number, which I had to find in the Expedia app, then kept me waiting another ten minutes just to locate the laundry. The machines only take quarters, no bills or cards, and the dryer forced me to buy 45 minutes for $3 even though I only needed 20. No change machine, either, so I made two trips to my car in the rain for quarters. Things went poorly as soon as I arrived. My room was at the far end of the top floor, in an accessible room I hadn't requested. I had a luggage cart and had to get around cables and squeeze past a maintenance worker on a ladder blocking the hall. I had to pass the same obstacle on the way to my car and back to my room.
