The family who run the lodge were welcoming and knew a lot about the local wildlife and area. We stayed three nights while snowmachining and hunting with a friend. It made a comfortable base for our outings, with cooked breakfasts and dinners plus a choice of coffees. The rooms were cozy. Bathrooms are shared, though there are plenty of them.

The Denali Highway is where they're located. We came in a little after 5 pm hoping to find dinner, and got a single-choice meal that turned out to be wonderful: salad, rice, and slow-roasted pork shoulder. The pork was perfectly seasoned and tender enough to cut with a fork. Our hosts were warm, and the peanut butter bar for dessert was a nice finish. We left full and happy. I can't speak to their other meals, but this one stuck with me.

The whole Bondy family, Chrissy included, made us feel at home. We got a great tour of the area, enjoyed the views and delicious meals, and found the lodge warm and welcoming. The stay exceeded what we expected in every way.

It was a relief to find a place to stop for the night about halfway along the 130 mile Denali Highway. The folks at Alpine Creek lodge were great, and we had a room with a view, dinner, and breakfast. This is a unique spot, just as advertised, and the only open commercial lodging along the highway. It was the highlight of our two-week Alaska driving tour. Most rental car companies won't allow this unpaved road, but Alaskan Rental Car does. The road isn't bad, though stopping overnight made the drive easier.

Right in the middle of the remote Denali Highway, this lodge felt like an oasis. It's on grid with electricity, and has showers, clean and comfortable rooms, and tasty homemade food. The hosts were exceptionally friendly. Highly recommend.
