Bedford Inn

Ashley greeted us when we arrived and was so friendly, polite, and knowledgeable about the house and the area. Talking with her was a pleasure, like we’d known each other for years. My wife and I came for our 34th anniversary, and the bed and breakfast was amazing. The room was clean, comfortable, and cozy, and the breakfast was excellent. We relaxed on the porches and could hear the ocean waves. The shore-themed decor was lovely. The house is one block from the beach and within walking distance of Washington Street. We plan to come back in summer and highly recommend the Bedford Inn.

Tea at the Prince Albert and visits to the other Queen Victoria properties were highlights. My favorite was the pecan pie, and the food throughout our stay was delicious. I do miss the beach passes Paula used to offer, though I understand they may still be figuring that out. From our call to confirm arrival, the staff were warm and attentive. Ashley welcomed us and made us feel at home, with suggestions for places to eat and explore. She also told us how the Queen Victoria transitioned to the Bedford and gave us directions to afternoon tea at the Prince Albert. Jamie helped host some breakfasts, and the two worked seamlessly together. The rooms were spotless, housekeeping was offered each morning during breakfast, and the tea and water bottles in the common room were always stocked. It was a relaxing, cozy stay with lots of thoughtful touches, and we’d absolutely return.

The room was nice and clean, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast and service were very good each morning. We especially enjoyed having coffee and breakfast on the enclosed porch. The staff and owner were friendly and the service was great. There were ants in the room, which was my only complaint. The location made it easy to walk around town and to the beach. We arrived after hours and had no trouble getting into the house and our room without staff there. The driveway parking is very tight, though there are several spots, and street parking was usually full.

Our hosts were lovely, and we enjoyed the great breakfasts each morning. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The location was perfect, right near the beach and a 10-minute walk from shopping and dining. We had a wonderful weekend at this amazing hotel. We’ll be back and will recommend it to friends and family!
