MainStay Suites Carlisle

The place is pretty quiet inside, though it sits among creepy warehouses and it's a good hike from town. The room's design is a bit strange. There's a small stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and sink in the kitchen, plus a mantle or bureau with a pull-out table for working. The bathroom is okay, and cleanliness was okay too. The dishwasher had a strong burnt smell after running. When the bathroom fan was on, something foul seemed to be pulled into the room. With the extra space and current inflation, I think the room should cost $60-80 including taxes. I could see $250 a week, too. The place next door is gouging at $375.00 a week.

The room itself was nice and clean, but getting it took a while: we arrived at 2am and waited 30 minutes. At 8am, breakfast was nearly empty. There were basically just waffles, with no spoons, hot chocolate, fruit, or eggs.

The room was spacious, very nice, and clean. My only issue was noisy neighbors. Since I was there for just one night, I didn't contact the front desk, and I don't blame the hotel. Some people are inconsiderate and don't think about respecting others. I stayed on December 23, 2025, while passing through to visit my family for Christmas, and I had my dog with me. The gentleman at the front desk at 8 pm was wonderful, kind, and welcoming. He gave my dog treats and explained where breakfast was, when it was open, and what amenities were available.

The rooms are much bigger than a standard hotel room, with a full kitchenette and plenty of workspace. As an extended-stay property, Mainstay Suites works well for people visiting the War College or coming for the car shows. It's an easy choice in Carlisle if you want somewhere comfortable, reliable, and welcoming. Matt at the front desk made check-in smooth and friendly. He was professional, knew the local area, and made me feel at home right away. Assistant Manager Jess also deserves a special mention. Her service went well beyond her job description. I saw her personally unload items from an older couple's car and carry them to their room. That kind of proactive care and genuine kindness is rare. Between the spacious suites and the service from Matt and Jess, this is hands-down the best hospitality in the area. Highly recommended!
