Hyatt House Carlsbad

The room door didn't sit flush with the frame, so a lot of hallway light came in and it wasn't as dark as I like for sleeping. Apart from that, we loved our one-night stay. Samuel, who was working the evening shift, was very nice, and the woman there when we checked out was really cool. Breakfast was pretty good, and there's a bar in the hotel, so you might not need to go out.

Our King Suite had a separate living area and bedroom, and the bathroom was the cleanest I've ever seen, cleaner even than some five-star hotels I've stayed in. The lobby was bright, the hotel felt modern, and the staff were really nice. Breakfast was good too, though unfortunately the HBar was closed. Carlsbad Caverns was closed while we were there, but the hotel suggested some great alternatives to see around Carlsbad. I just finished my stay and was very impressed.

The place feels almost brand new, with a resort feel rather than an "oil field" hotel. My room had a giant shower. It was quiet, and the floors and halls seem laid out to keep noise down. The rooms were clean, the hot breakfast was included and good, and it's in a nice part of town with nothing else right next to it. Super nice place.

The building seems new, and the room was very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable too. I gave it four stars because a group of men, possibly drunk, were talking really loudly in the park until the wee hours. We could hear them all the way up on the fourth floor.
