The building’s architecture and landscaping are beautiful, and it looks like the place used to be nice. It has a lot of potential, but I think whoever bought it last has no care or business knowledge. The room was freezing, with the AC set to 62, and there was no heater. There was no microwave, just one fork, and bugs in the cupboard and with the dishes. The carpets were disgustingly filthy. The hallway smelled like moldy socks mixed with cigarette and marijuana when we came out of the elevator. I wouldn’t even let my son sit on the little couch, which was dirtier than ones I’ve seen homeless people sleeping on. There were cockroaches in the sink. We used our sleeping bags because there was no way we’d sleep in those dirty sheets. I know it’s much cheaper, but if the low price is because it’s dirty, people should know.

After a long day of travel, the comfortable beds and kind people made this feel like a comforting place to land. The location is superb, and the staff really care about helping you have a good stay. The owners are continually working to improve the property, which is so close to the beach. It needs constant attention, but they’re on it and will listen to suggestions.

The front desk made my stay feel like home for both me and my pets. Marietta C. was the first sign of how things would go: she greeted me with a welcoming smile and was ready to help with everything. I told her what I wanted in a room, price, and information, and she stayed focused on her computer until she found a deal I was happy with. She was efficient, helpful, and went above and beyond. The hospitality industry needs more women like her. Thank you for making our stay feel like home.

The air conditioner in the room didn’t work, and the bed was soiled with urine. The sheets and pillowcases were stained too. The couch was torn, dirty, and had burn holes. I was told management would talk to me on top priority, and that was all I could get. This is ridiculous. I booked another hotel that same night instead of staying here. Never stay here. If I could give zero stars, I would.

The photos on Expedia didn’t match the room I was given. It was disgusting: dog hair everywhere, dirty stained sheets, a filthy mattress, a beat-up room, bugs on the walls, and a broken AC unit. When I asked to switch rooms, they said I couldn’t and would have to talk to management in the morning. I packed up and walked to a much cleaner, more accommodating hotel down the road. I’ll never consider staying at another Motel 6.
