Travelodge by Wyndham Carlsbad NM

The morning team greeted us warmly at the free breakfast, and the man who checked me in was polite despite how late I arrived. He even came around the desk to help while my hands were full. Earlier, the receptionist had been friendly and knew the hotel well. She helped me choose a comfortable room for me and my crew when I called to book. The one-night price was great, and I was really happy with the experience.

Breakfast was pretty lacking, but the stay itself was comfortable. The room was clean and well kept, with no bad smells and all the toiletries stocked. Staff were friendly, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. I'd stay here again.

The staff are really nice and deserve five stars. I gave the place one star because the breakfast was the worst I've seen in the nation for over $100 a night. I paid $145 after tax for one night, and the choices were bread, bagels, and about three kinds of cereal. No eggs or meat. I've stayed here twice because it's the closest place to my destination in town. If breakfast doesn't matter to you, the place is alright. Life is good!

The owner and staff are wonderful, and I love this hotel. I was disappointed that some amenities were gone, though I don't blame the owner. That's on Wyndham. They used to have an excellent breakfast and a pool.
