Our cottage was charming and roomy, with one bedroom, a living room fireplace, a full kitchen, a little breakfast nook, and a large patio. There are similar cottages and one studio. No A/C, but the climate is cool enough that it wasn't needed; a portable cooler/heater is provided if necessary. We were extremely comfortable and even added another night. Breakfast was brought to our cottage each morning, and the apple turnover and quiche were exceptional. The afternoon Wine & Cheese Hour was a lovely way to enjoy the day and meet other guests. It's dog-friendly and a short walk to two beaches. Julie was so inviting and went out of her way to make sure our stay was wonderful. She's such a character, whom I adore. This place is a hidden gem, part of me wanted to keep this Magical Place to myself. Looking forward to returning with my Doodle. On-site parking too.

Joanne at reception is very nice, but my compliments end there. The main woman overseeing the place, Joanne's boss, is vile, mean, and arrogant. Take your money elsewhere. For what this place charges, you can stay even closer to the coast somewhere you're treated with respect. Don't support a place that treats customers like trash. You've been warned.

After more than 20 years of making this my go-to haven away from home, I won't be back. I used to have great experiences, so this change really hit me. It even made me wonder whether the property had been sold. I don't see when, but it looks like it may have been, and that could explain why everything felt so different. I realize this review may make us sound like rude guests or like we overstayed our welcome. I understand that, and if all these things hadn't piled up, I'd probably have written something more balanced. We only had breakfast brought to the room once, never requested service during our stay, were quiet in bed by 8p each night, asked nothing of the office, and only took a little cheese and crackers a few times around 4p. We tried to be considerate and reasonable, so being treated poorly felt especially bad. The woman running the place had never said hello or waved to us. Then she came after us, blaming us for our dog pooping on the lawn. We had read the rules and were careful to pick everything up. He did pee on the lawn once at 3am as we were leaving for the marathon. I felt bad, but he had to go, and he's so small it was about a tbsp of pee. They were rude about our well-behaved dog, while doing nothing about the neighboring dog barking off and on our whole stay. We paid $180 for someone to watch our dog in the room so we wouldn't bother other guests. The room was disgusting too, with ants everywhere and a horrid, sunken bed that seemed past its lifespan. Our backs were killing us by the end. Other rooms looked nicer, but one of five rooms shouldn't be this bad. Stained lampshades, paint peeling off the cabinets, and stale pastries for “breakfast,” you get the idea.

Robin Hood cottage worked perfectly for four adults. It was clean, updated, and all hardwood, so there was no strange carpet smell. There's a small, relaxing patio out back, and the garden is a treat too. The excellent breakfast included especially good quiche, and in the afternoon there's a charming wine and cheese setup. You can walk to the beach and drive to town in about five minutes. Check-in was easy, and I came away feeling relaxed and recharged. The stay exceeded my expectations.

The cottages at Lincoln Green Inn are quaint and beautiful. We had a lovely, cozy stay, and it's dog friendly too.
