Only real plus was that it’s affordable. The room was so small we struggled to open our suitcases, and it smelled unpleasantly of urine and mildew. I put my bag on the closet luggage rack, but then the doors wouldn’t close and the light stayed on. The pictures I’ll attach show the partial ocean view. The old-fashioned lobby looks quaint online, but it’s mostly just a waiting area, with signs on the tables saying not to bring in food or drinks. There’s no elevator, and the stairs are a serious problem if you’re not in excellent shape. We’re 76, and even being strong and healthy, carrying 40-pound suitcases up three flights wasn’t feasible. We’d been told our bags would be taken to our rooms after they were stored until check-in. When we came back, I asked twice for help carrying them up. Jason at the front desk replied, "It looks like you’ve got it," and he meant it. One and done.

The hotel is nice, handy for getting everywhere, and has wonderful parking. Staff were accommodating. The rooms feel very cramped, with an extremely small bathroom, and it was both quite expensive and a bit noisy.

The rooms are small, maybe 350sqft, but the beds are super comfortable. The shower and tub look a little dated, though there’s strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The cafe next to the lobby has really good coffee. This cute boutique hotel has great customer service and free guest parking, right in the shopping area and a short walk from the beach. I’d definitely return for a weekend getaway.

The location was the one good thing. The hotel is old, and the rooms feel old too. We waited more than an hour for breakfast after ordering.

If you’re in room 9 or one of the first rooms on the left in the main building, the event space is right by your window. There was a party next door to our room, and we hadn’t been invited. With no AC, we had to choose between closing the windows and sweltering, or opening them for comfort and losing sleep from the noise. Bring a noise machine if you want to stay at the Pine Inn. I wish I’d known about the parties before booking. Maybe some people would actually like that, no judgement. There was a strange sticky liquid soaked into the carpet outside our door. The bathtub was so battered they’d put something like a doormat in it to cover it, and it was really gross to stand on. Welcome to quaint and quiet Camel!
