The building isn't brand new, but it still looks in good shape. The materials and construction seem sturdy and authentic, with real tile floors, and it seems well soundproofed. They were understanding about some difficult travel issues I had before arriving, and someone from MANAGEMENT came to check a concern about my room within about 10 minutes. I appreciated that. The only frustrating thing was an email they said they'd sent that got caught by my Spam filter, and I don't know if Google can recognize their email address or something. That wasn't their fault, though.

The spa was amazing, but the room was a different story. It was dirty when we got there, with towels on the floor, full trash cans, and food on the table. They cleaned it after I went down to complain, but paying so much and having to call someone in before we could get ready for the wedding party really sucked. The hotel staff didn't seem to care. I had arranged early check-in and called the day before, but after I arrived they said they don't do early check-ins. We had to leave the spa to get our things and bring them up. I also wish someone had told us we'd have to take stairs from the room entrance to reach our actual room.

The executive suite was clean, and it was the only room with a king bed. It had a vanity with a stool, a spacious separate WC, and a huge enclosed freestanding tub along with a stand-up shower. The living room also had a half bath, a walk-in luggage room, and a separate closet. All the floors were porcelain. Still, it didn't feel luxurious because the guest experience seemed secondary to management convenience and saving on everything, from uniforms to the entrance and cafe charges. The way in was very shoddy, through a series of secret doors, while leaving meant going down three flights of stairs. The elevator didn't work, and staff said it had never worked since they started there. The phone wouldn't connect us to housekeeping or the front desk. The AC by the bed wasn't working properly, so the room didn't cool enough. We weren't told the button outside the room was how to request service, and the room wasn't cleaned the next day. We needed towels but never got any.

The restaurants on site all closed by 7:30, which seemed absurd, and there was no room service. There was no in-room cable either, so be ready to pay for streaming or use your home login. Even stepping out to the car after check-in meant being charged again, and those rules weren't listed online when booking. The phones didn't work, and when I called a week ahead to arrange things for Father's Day, all I got at check-in when asking how to reach the hotel was, 'We're short staffed, sorry.' It took 40 minutes to get checked in and into the room because they were so understaffed. The bathroom had hair around when we arrived, just disgusting. Staff and customer service were awful, with little professionalism or training, no clear process when something went wrong, and extra charges for everything. I expected more from a spa property, especially after planning a Father's Day trip where everything from check-in to room cleanliness went wrong. Save your money. King Spa is just as nice for half the price, with better service, tasty food, and a restaurant open late. Check out King Spa instead and stay away from this place!

There were a lot of other problems I haven't even mentioned, and when my husband described our stay as we left, nobody seemed to care. It felt like they'd got their money and that was all that mattered. The whole trip was extremely disappointing for what we paid, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If you're after an upscale experience for your money, find somewhere else. We booked two nights for a spring break getaway, and it was the worst getaway ever. My husband had recently had back surgery, and even after we told staff, they put us on the third floor and offered no help with luggage. The elevator didn't work, either. We had towels for just one person. We called down, waited two and a half hours, then asked again; 30 minutes later they brought only large towels. We never got the face towels we asked for. The main bathroom sink had no hot water throughout the stay. Maintenance came while we were out, but it still didn't work, and nobody checked afterward. There was no top sheet, the main bathroom floor looked filthy, and the room smelled worse than a cheap, mildewed Motel 6. We had no internet, so couldn't watch TV. At the spa, nobody gave clear directions or explained what to do after check-in, even after we said it was our first visit. One massage therapist kept telling and showing my husband four times where to leave a tip. We planned to tip anyway, so that repeated pressure was unnecessary and unprofessional.
