Motel 6 Carson, CA

I’ve stayed here over the past five years without a problem getting my deposit back, but now they’re keeping my $100 over supposed towel damage. I have a video from when I left, and it shows two towels on the floor, one meant for the floor and one dry towel that had fallen off the curtain rod. They can’t show me proof of damage and are relying on housekeeping’s word, even though I’d used the towel the night before. The towels were already stained, with black marks on many of them. If I’d known this would become an issue, I would have taken pictures and asked for clean ones, though I’m not usually petty about a towel meant for the floor. I asked the front desk for proof, but the man was rude, hung up on me several times, and said I was discriminating against his business because I mentioned the towels cost $2 and he was charging me $100. I feel they’re keeping my money after a disagreement about extending my stay. During our July 8-12 stay they also complained that we had bags of clothes rather than suitcases or gym bags, and that we had too much on the floor and dirty clothes under the bathroom sink. We had four people’s laundry to do in their washing room, and two of us work to pay for the room. When I asked where dirty clothes should go, he told me to put them in a bag, while also objecting to our clothes being in bags. They seemed to be looking for a reason not to extend our stay, and now they won’t return the deposit despite the video showing no damage. Housekeepers have also come into the room while we were sleeping. Be careful here, document everything, and if your towels are stained, call the desk and ask for fresh ones. They say dirty, stained towels can’t be reused, but many already have black marks.

For what I paid, I was really happy with the stay and would come back next time I’m nearby. Anaheim, LA, and several beaches are all within 30 minutes or less. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and having a mini mart in the lobby was handy. The pool hours weren’t ideal, but the water was clean and refreshing.

I had an emergency and ended up here, but the place was awful. I left less than five hours after checking in and found somewhere else for the rest of the night. I can’t recommend it.

Staying at this Studio Motel 6 is always easy and stress free. Even when it’s busy, I’ve never waited more than eight minutes. ABHI checked me in, remembered what I needed from past visits, and went above and beyond. He’s always polite and quick, and the staff are amazing.
