Wingate By Wyndham Miami Airport

The lobby is the only appealing part, with its fancy look and nice artwork. In the room, basic things were missing, even tissues, and the bed sheets had a huge amount of hair on them. The towels were worn out and had hair too. I'd never seen that in a hotel before. Breakfast was a joke. The sausage and eggs were barely edible, the waffles had no taste, and the coffee was horrible. Better coffee costs an extra $2, which is crazy. Breakfast also ends at 9, for some reason. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

The cleanliness was poor, with dirt on the floor and hair on the bed. The bar was closed, and so was the onsite restaurant, which was the reason I booked. Breakfast was atrocious, with very few options, and the coffee tasted like chicken. Yep, chicken coffee. I got a deal through our cc, but the savings weren't worth it. The hotel was much farther from the cruise port than I expected, my mistake. This was my second stay at a Wingate by Wyndham, and I'm done. I'll pay a little more for a better experience somewhere else.

The lobby photos are misleading. Once you step off the elevator, the place feels old and disgusting. My first room smelled stale, with a terrible fragrance over it that gave me a headache right away. The second room had dirty sheets and hair on every pillow, so I refused to stay for the week. Tyler was helpful overall, though he still had an attitude like I was the problem. I had to work it out with hotels.com to get a refund, and they charged me for one night “due to policy.” I hope that was worth it long term, because this isn't my first problem with this hotel chain. After this, I'll never give another one of these locations my business.

The room was spacious and very clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We were welcomed by a really friendly, attentive team, and the location worked perfectly for getting to the airport. The free shuttle was a big plus, and breakfast had a fresh variety. We'd definitely stay here again. The one small issue was the staff member responsible for the breakfast area. I found them not very friendly or attentive, though I realize it may have been an isolated situation. It didn't take away from our positive stay. The other services and facilities were superb.
