Comfort Inn Casa Grande

The hotel is in a convenient spot, with very clean rooms and a nice workout room. Everyone seemed cheerful, from the front desk to housekeeping. The breakfast bar attendant was especially sweet and went way beyond what she had to do to help and accommodate guests. The service here is unbelievably good.

The price felt hard to justify, especially at over $400 for a place this far out of the way. Several advertised facilities were unavailable: the pool and fitness center were closed, and despite the hotel's accessibility claim, there was no elevator to the second floor. The website also promised a continental breakfast, but it was just a few muffins, one waffle maker, and cereal. The coffee was awful whenever I tried it. My shower had no door or curtain, so the bathroom flooded every time, and I found pubic hairs on the bed when I arrived. The hotel itself was clean otherwise, but that was still a bad start. A group of construction workers and tow drivers made noise all night. The staff looked stressed and overwhelmed, which I felt bad about. I was in town for work and wanted a regular place to stay near my job, but this wasn't it.

We stayed for a week, and the room was clean and nice, with lots of plazas and restaurants nearby. There was a microwave in the room, and the hotel supplied shampoo, conditioner, soap, a hair dryer, an iron, and an ironing board. The workout room was open, but the fridge door wouldn't stay shut. We couldn't stream movies from our phones because that was blocked. The website listed guest laundry, but it had been closed for a while and wasn't available. Breakfast ran out of food on some mornings. One young woman working nights was kind and accommodating. Other staff smelled strongly of weed, and some were smoking behind the hotel by the rear entrance. Staff were in the pool with their kids, splashing so much that we couldn't enjoy the pool or jacuzzi. We also couldn't get staff to answer the phone most of the time. My friend was unwell and had to stay in the room while I went to a medical appointment. I called to ask someone to check on her, but once again, nobody answered.

The room had a comfortable king bed, plenty of space, and modern decor. The stairs and entrance were at the far end from our room, though I noticed stairs beside it that couldn't be opened from outside. Breakfast was very basic, with no scrambled eggs or sausage like other motels in the same price range offer. The website said laundry was available, but it wasn't. They need to update that.
