MainStay Suites Extended Stay Hotel Casa Grande

I paid a lot for a room that was dirty and badly neglected. The bathroom grout was disgusting, the walls were stained, and the sheets looked dingy. There was hair in the shower and urine on the toilet seat, which points to poor housekeeping. The nightstands were at least 30 years old, but I could have overlooked worn furniture if the room had been clean and maintained. I slept in my clothes on top of the covers. I was there for seven hours, as briefly as I could manage. When I arrived at 1am, I was so exhausted that I couldn't decide whether to leave or sleep in my truck, and I didn't know where else to go. The hotel needs an upgrade, with paint on the walls, new sheets, and the bathroom grout steam-cleaned. Being old doesn't mean it has to be neglected. When I asked GM Wendy for a refund, she was rude and acted annoyed by the complaint instead of apologizing. She said she'd review my room and bill and call me back. She never did. The state of the hotel reflects her management.

Clean rooms, good AC, and hot shower water, plus the housekeeping staff kept the sheets changed. I also met manager Wendy, who was friendly and clearly runs the hotel well. Shout out to all the ladies, they deserve raises 😂. But assistant manager Hyde stood out most. I travel a lot for work, and she's the nicest hotel staff member I've met. She made check-in and checkout incredibly smooth and gave top-notch service. If I'm back in Casa Grande, AZ and she's still here, I'll stay at MainStay Suites because of her. Give that young lady a raise haha.

The first room was filthy: food bits covered the microwave, the floor was sticky everywhere, the toilet had yellow residue on the outside of the bowl and seat, and a food container was tucked between the sheet and mattress. The front desk woman handled our move to another room with real professionalism and was extremely helpful. Without her, I'd have switched hotels right away, even if that put us over budget.

The staff were personable and friendly at both ends of our stay, from check-in through checkout. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed. We stayed two nights ago and were really impressed. We'll book here again next time we're in the area.
