Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Tulsa Catoosa

We came to Catoosa to visit family and see the area where I grew up, after being away for over 20 years. The quick highway access was about the only plus. Our room didn’t have enough towels, and the manager hesitated when we asked for an extra pillow. She said one would be sent up, but it never arrived, even though the parking lot was empty. The thermostat kept fluctuating within what seemed like a two-degree range, so we couldn’t get comfortable. The bed labeled king looked more like a queen, maybe even a full, which stood out since we have a king at home. Breakfast was awful: mushy, browned apples and stale bread and bagels. We bought food at Walgreens instead. The TV picture also looked muddy and fuzzy from some odd AI upscaler. The hotel seems to want to be nice but lets itself down at every turn. I’d stay somewhere else.

The room was comfortable, except for the bed. Its king mattress sagged in the middle and was in pretty rough condition, so it wasn’t comfortable the way you’d expect. Service was good, and the staff were accommodating.

BEDBUGS, BEWARE! We stayed here on September 17 in room 204 so we’d be closer to the airport for an early flight with the kids. After a disastrous check-in, all of us ended up covered in bites. I know hospitality procedures and the law, and I politely gave the staff three chances to address it. I left three messages asking the manager to contact me. On my last call, the receptionist was very rude, refused to let me speak with a manager, and wouldn’t take steps to make this right. I’m posting photos here and on TripAdvisor. I had to take my kids to Disney covered in bites because of this hotel’s negligence, and I apparently have an allergy to them. That made for an itchy, rough trip, plus we spent a lot on new clothes for everyone. I filed complaints with the EPA and the formal Health Department. I had no bites before the stay and none since leaving.

I arrived without a reservation and got checked in pretty quickly. The hostess was respectful and professional, and the room was spacious, modern, and VERY CLEAN. It was quiet overnight, so I rested comfortably. Breakfast had lots of choices and started at 6 a.m. Checkout was easy, just drop the key at the front desk.
