Comfort Inn & Suites Cedar Hill Duncanville

The location was great, and from the front the place looked fine. The front desk staff seemed somewhat helpful. We had three rooms for my mom’s birthday stay with her sisters, but the accessible rooms were far from the elevator at the opposite end of the hallway, which isn’t practical for someone with mobility issues. The rooms had chipped furniture, snags and tears, and frayed carpet, and the bathroom could have been cleaner. Inside, the hotel felt older and more rundown. A section of the fence around the back pool had been torn down, and as we were leaving, the elevator started acting up. I started thinking of those TV shows where people get stuck in one.

We saw the condition of the room and the rest of the hotel, but they wouldn’t refund us. There was a huge carpet stain and drawer handles were coming off. The tiny elevator smelled strongly of smoke, made very loud, worrying noises, and couldn’t fit both a cart and our family. The place is old, falling apart, and pretty nasty. I’d never book it again.

The lobby looks nice, so you’d think the rooms would be decent. They aren’t. Ours was filthy, covered in stains, and had roaches everywhere. It’s insane.

We were a family of five booked into the only room that could fit five adults for two nights. Because of the room’s condition, the hotel moved us into two separate rooms, one on the first floor and one on the third. Those rooms were much better, smelled clean, and showed no signs of mold. The first room was one of the worst places I’ve stayed: mold all over, including on the fold-out couch, food debris beneath the mattress, cockroaches, and sheets that looked as if they hadn’t been changed in a long time.
