Newport City Center Motel

The room was spotless and everything in it worked perfectly. Breakfast barely existed, just a coffee machine in the room and juice at reception, and even water cost extra. Luckily, there are plenty of places around the corner for a proper breakfast. Since the price was so low compared with nearby options, I’m happy to give it five stars. It was a very pleasant surprise.

We were traveling on the interstate and stopped for the night at Days Inn in Newport, OR. It was bitterly cold, with rain mixed with snow. The room was clean and did the job for one night, and the bed turned out to be comfortable despite the metal mattress base I discovered by bumping it with my foot. The TV was okay, though I’d never heard of Spectrum and there were way too many channels with nothing on. What struck me when we arrived was the bare paneled floor, with no rug. I used one of our two bath towels as a mat. A heated floor or even a rug would’ve been nice. ♡

The location is great, and everyone was courteous. Check-in was easy and friendly, and our room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. I had back pain that night, but the bed helped and I slept peacefully. I’ve stayed at lots of hotels, and this place has the basics that some higher-end spots overlook. I appreciate it and would return.

The room was clean and came with towels, coffee, shampoo, and the rest. Friendly office staff, great service and location, and a good room for the price. The thin walls were the one downside: a couple was having sex on one side, and a guy was snoring on the other.
