Americas Best Value Inn Rancho Palos Verdes

We spent the night in our clothes and waited to board the ship. The room felt like somewhere you wouldn’t want to touch anything, and it wasn’t worth $120. I’ve worked as a hotel housekeeper, and you should be ashamed of yourselves. The first room had visibly dirty sheets, grime on the wall, and dirt in the shower. They were sort of nice about moving us, but the next room wasn’t much better. We didn’t have many options because places were full due to the cruise ship, and we’d waited too long to book. The photos don’t match how gross this place is. Everything needs a deep cleaning. It felt like a room you might rent by the hour.

There wasn’t even a phone in the room to call the front desk. I’d booked for two people, but there was only one set of washcloths. I didn’t sleep under the sheets, and ended up sleeping in my clothes. The place felt like an hourly-rate motel. It was dirty, and smoke kept coming in through my window all night even though they said no smoking. The room attendant said she wasn’t finished cleaning and still needed to mop. Walking around, I could see she hadn’t cleaned under the bed. There was all kinds of dirt under there.

The manager seemed bothered when we complained about our disgusting, beat-up room. He did move us to one that was a little less trashed, at least, and there were no bedbugs. Still, nothing but regrets about this place.

The staff were cool, the rooms have been updated, and it’s conveniently close to everything you need, from food to dining and more.
