The maintenance man, Dan, was great. The place is gorgeous, very clean, and spacious, with two bedrooms and their own bathrooms, plus a large living room and kitchen. There’s a gorgeous back porch facing the water, as well as a pool, hot tub, and dock. It’s .6 miles from the pier and a great spot if you want peace and quiet. My main issue was the AC. It wasn’t working when I got back from dinner, and although I was able to reach the manager easily, it couldn’t be fixed until the next morning. It wasn’t hot that evening, but it was muggy enough to make sleeping uncomfortable. The windows I could open wouldn’t open all the way. Once the AC was fixed, it wouldn’t go below 71 degrees, and I like it at 68 when I sleep. For what I paid, I should be able to control the AC. Even with those problems, I’d come back and recommend staying here.

The end unit gave us a beautiful view and a little wraparound porch, and the condo was spacious, clean, and just as pictured and described. The mattresses were too springy for us, though, and we woke up with some back pain. That’s the one thing I’d suggest they replace. We had a great weekend with family and really enjoyed our stay. The place is super cute. Shirley, the owner, stayed in touch and answered my questions right away. She also recommended a restaurant, and she was definitely right about it. We’ll be back!

The view from unit 102 was great, and we loved the wraparound deck. Looking out at the ocean is hard to beat. It’s a great little town, too, and renting a golf cart to tool around for a weekend was fun. The rooms are spacious, and we stayed with friends, with each couple having a bedroom and bathroom. The pool was cloudy when we arrived Thursday and was still cloudy on Saturday, so it needs attention. Our room’s TV would turn on, but there was no sound, and we couldn’t adjust the volume or channel with the remote or on the TV. The bed in our room was very uncomfortable, although our friends found the bed in the master bedroom comfortable.

My husband and I originally booked condo 503 for the end of August 23’, when Cedar Key was in Hurricane Idalia’s direct path. Shirley, the condo owner, wouldn’t refund our money, even though we were also in danger from the hurricane. Cedar Key was hit hard, and families and businesses were devastated. She said I had to rebook before the end of the year for the same nights. My husband couldn’t make any of the dates, so I went with a girlfriend instead. Condo #503 was very outdated, with broken blinds, little nicks and holes in the walls, pictures from the 90s, and a drab look. It wasn’t like the other places we’ve stayed on the island, where we’ve been coming for almost 30 years. My girlfriend and I left it spotless, but then Shirley texted that she wouldn’t refund my security deposit because we supposedly broke a guest-room window. The housekeeper apparently found it open and couldn’t close it. It was cold and windy during our two nights there, 12/17-19, with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 40s. There’s no way we broke anything, and we never opened any windows. I’ve never been treated so poorly in Cedar Key, and I’m very disappointed in Shirley. Don’t rent from her. I think she’s a liar and a thief. She also said her housekeeper never misses anything and checks the whole condo before the next guests. But the light on the deck was out while we were there, so we sat out there in the dark. She missed that.

The view was amazing, and the property management was excellent. Our unit didn’t have cable, and the owner refused to get it, so Roku channels were the only TV option. It was frustrating when I wanted to check the local weather before booking a fishing guide. Rent any other unit besides 102 and you’ll have a wonderful time.
