Crowne Plaza Phoenix - Chandler Golf Resort by IHG

We spent Thanksgiving week here visiting our son and would definitely return. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, and the pool was gorgeous for Thanksgiving Day. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with yummy food options. Lots of restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

The breakfast was great, and we had an awesome one-night stay. One thing to know about the historic and haunted section: it's in the main building. Most of the rooms are in buildings put up in the 80s, after the original bungalows were torn down to make room for them. That's not to say there aren't ghosts.

The location was great, but I was very disappointed and wouldn't stay again. The hotel felt old and nowhere near a real four-star standard. They say the rooms are renovated, but mine didn't seem to be. The carpet smelled like feet, and everything felt dated. There were no basic toiletries, and getting to the rooms from outside felt more like a motel. We were visiting family in Gilbert and picked this place hoping for something luxurious and resort-like. I wish I'd chosen a clean, new three-star hotel in Gilbert instead. I also had to remind the front desk that breakfast was included in my rate, and they struggled to confirm it. Breakfast itself was extremely average. There was no coffee in the lobby, and the hot tub wasn't hot.

Christmas decorations made the resort look beautiful, and the staff were incredible throughout our wedding weekend. Will got us checked in, Alana at the front desk was so helpful, and Cale made a fantastic Old Fashioned. The French Dip was delicious too. I'd give the weekend 10 stars if I could.
