Hampton Inn & Suites Charleston/West Ashley

You'd want a car here. The hotel is about 16 km from the city center, and there are no nearby sidewalks, so walking feels unsafe. I tried a morning jog but the traffic and lack of infrastructure made running along the roads too hazardous, which was a significant inconvenience for me. Check local routes before planning to walk or jog, or consider somewhere more pedestrian-friendly. The property itself is clean and well maintained, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The staff were helpful and courteous. Breakfast was standard and the coffee was excellent. A very pleasant older lady checked me in, and checkout was smooth and friendly. Recommended if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place outside the city, especially when traveling by car.

Room 400 was clean, comfortable, and well cared for after its remodel. The bathroom and shower were amazing, with real tile walls, lots of space in the shower, and wonderful water pressure. They did the renovation with real care and precision. I'll keep coming back to this hotel.

My husband was in ICU this time, so I stayed closer to the hospital. The other hotel came nowhere near this one for quality, service, or value. We usually stay here when he has appointments at MUSC, and everyone here goes above and beyond. My room was clean and very comfortable, and the shower was the best I've had in years. I won't stay anywhere else.

The rooms are a good size and comfortable, with a desk, sofa, and large TV. It's a clean hotel that looks like it was recently remodeled or refurbished. The free breakfast was about what you'd expect.
