Charlotte Suites

We arrived at the hotel last night for a reservation through Thursday that I'd made on the IHG website. The whole facility was covered in damaged materials and litter, and there was a vagrant car encampment. With my partner Jen needing to be in surgery at 4:00 a.m. EST today, it didn't feel like a place where she could rest. We booked another IHG property instead. I'm gold elite and have never had a problem with you before. While driving, I tried to cancel and get a refund, but was told nothing could be done and I had to speak with the desk. The desk employee was incredibly rude. We got checked in at the other location and slept before our 3:00 a.m. wake-up. After Jen's surgery was complete and successful, I returned to cancel. They agreed to cancel today through Thursday but wouldn't refund last night, despite many rooms being vacant. The IHG site had said nothing about repairs, renovation or construction. The lack of help was disappointing and unprofessional, and refusing to return last night's payment felt like a money grab.

The one person I liked was a woman from New York whose name I can't remember. She was doing a million things by herself and really should be the manager. The rest of the stay was awful. Amber wouldn't give me more bath towels because she said she'd already given me enough and thought I might steal them. I've used Expedia for years, and I'm not going to get burned over a few towels. She was unbelievably rude. Breakfast was disgusting, and they charged for parking even though the hotel isn't downtown and has its own lot. Please find somewhere better.

We lasted 20 minutes, checked out, and found somewhere else. The smell was bad, and the curtains were shredded and stained with blood. A horror show.

Nice rooms, and really close to the airport.
