Kim was an absolute goddess at check-in, warm, kind, and amazingly helpful. The room was very clean, and the bed had just the right firmness and was comfortable. The hotel is clean and very well kept, with a vast, well-lit parking lot covered by a lot of cameras. Checking in was a pleasure. I definitely recommend this location and agree with the previous reviews.
The room had hair across the bathroom floor, and hair was also behind the door and on the bedspring cover. That was true even after I was moved to a suite. At first, there was hair on the floor, bedside table, and box spring cover, plus something nasty splashed on the wall under the bedside table and a bug crushed on the ceiling. I asked the front desk to have it cleaned while I stepped out. When I returned, the shower had been cleaned and the bedding straightened but not changed; the other visible problems remained. After I went back to the desk, they suggested I show the cleaning person what needed attention. I shouldn’t have to oversee the staff. The cleaner dealt with the hair in the bathroom, then left before I could point out the rest. The bathroom still wasn’t clean. After three attempts, I asked for supplies to do it myself and was finally moved to another room, upgraded to a suite. The desk manager came with me and we both spotted obvious hair on two bathroom shelves. At first glance it looked better, but when I shut the bathroom door there was more hair behind it, plus hair on the bed cover. I later found guest complaints about bathroom hair from two weeks earlier and six months earlier, which made the whole thing more frustrating. I included photos, though it seems review photos are left out when published. This wasn’t one or two random hairs. The hotel had some nice features, and I had a few pleasant exchanges with staff, but that was overshadowed by the cleanliness problems and the need to chase a resolution. I called corporate customer service and was told someone would call within three days. No one did, so I emailed. They offered a voucher that has to be used at their brand hotel within a year. I don’t travel often and after this would probably choose another chain, so it wasn’t an acceptable solution. After more contact, they said they would refund me and still send the voucher. I hope this detailed report gets management and owners to address issues that seem to have continued for months, so future guests have a better stay.
The front desk staff are very nice, and the location is probably the best in the area, close to the highway, a mall, and restaurants. My family lives in Charlotte, and I’d consider staying here for the reunion this year, or again another time. I live in Baltimore. But first I need to talk to someone about the refund I’m still missing. They charged $50 a day per room for incidentals. For two rooms over three days I paid $300 extra, but at checkout I got only $150 refunded for one room, and I haven’t been able to reach anyone about the other $150 credit. Rooms were cleaned every other day, sometimes less often. The ice machine on the second floor was broken, the TV was outdated, and the small workout room needed cleaning. There’s no room service or in-room brochure with restaurants, hotel amenities, and local activities, though the front desk gave me a list of nearby places to eat. I really want to give five stars, but the unresolved refund is an issue.
I stayed May 1 to May 3. The welcome and service were good, and breakfast was a highlight. It was also handy to have detox water, coffee, and tea available around the clock, plus an on-site market for little things we needed. One thing to check before booking is the curtains in rooms facing the parking lot. Management said the sheer and blackout curtains are due to be replaced, but the ones there now look old and may not work as they should. Depending on the floor, leaving them open for natural light could affect your privacy, while closing them gives you less outside light and fewer views. If light and privacy both matter to you, ask whether the replacements are in or request a higher floor or different elevation.
The room came with a microwave and fridge, and was a decent size. There’s a desk and work area, and the lobby has a decent amount of space. Restaurants, shops, and an EV supercharger are close by. The downsides added up: the room wasn’t very clean, they ran out of fresh towels, and housekeeping only comes every other day, which meant no cleaning during our two-night stay. Breakfast was cheap and poorly made, with very few choices if you don’t eat red meat. The blinds didn’t block the light, so the room was super bright at 6:30 a.m. The ice machine was broken too.
