My credit card company stopped the payment and called me about it. Once we arrived to pay in person, it was clear this wasn’t a hotel. There were broken windows, run-down cars, and trash outside. I’m glad the card company flagged it, because that suggests other people have reported it too. Google Maps has the wrong location. The address might be right, but I couldn’t see building numbers. The building Google sends you to is a different hotel. I spoke with Loyalty hotel, and they confirmed Google marks the wrong building. The place you actually drive to is the building just to the left of Loyalty, the one that starts with a V. Hope this helps people.

There was no power, hot water, management, service, or rooms, and the office looked like it had been closed for a very long time. When I arrived at 3 p.m. to check in, people and families were standing outside, and the place looked like a block party. I’d booked through Hotels.com, but the photos were so deceptive. I did more research afterward and found that the city had shut it down over numerous violations and health concerns. It must be demolished. There were 12 citations.

I booked a room for my family, who live in Charlotte, N.C., a month ahead. When they arrived, the booking had been canceled on their behalf, and they didn’t refund all the money. The place isn’t worth it, so look elsewhere. I can only give it one star because the site wouldn’t post my review with no stars. This feels like a scam.

I booked through Expedia and arrived expecting an easy check-in, but the office was closed and there was no staff to help. I tried contacting the hotel several times without getting a response, so I had to find somewhere else late at night. I never got to check in, yet they refused to refund my money. I also contacted Expedia customer service, but they weren’t helpful in sorting it out. Paying for a service I never received and getting no customer care was incredibly frustrating. I had a horrible experience with the Lamplighter Inn By OYO Charlotte Airport Area. Its poor management and unsafe environment make it a risky choice. I strongly advise booking somewhere else.
