Rodeway Inn Charlotte Downtown

We expected a better room. The outlets didn’t work, the toilet wouldn’t flush, the sink leaked, and the AC was held together with tape. There was no tissue and the rack was broken. Highway noise kept going, too. We went out Saturday and came back to find our key wouldn’t work. After getting a replacement, we fell asleep in the early hours, then a man and a woman used a key to come into our room. Luckily, we didn’t have to fire any shots. The desk clerk had first quoted us $90 a night, but we got the room online for $61.75, then paid a $50 deposit. We’ll never come back.

My flight was canceled, and this was the only place with a room at the last minute. I’d have been better off sleeping on the airport floor, at least I might have been cleaner. The location felt VERY unsafe, and this was one of the most disgusting places I’ve stayed. The floor was sticky, the shower and curtain were dirty, with used product still there, and everything was worn, damaged, and filthy except the sheets. The door lock was falling apart, and the parking lot had barbed wire around it.

Mold, a bad smell, old furniture, and a sticky floor. The place was empty when I showed up at 5pm, and now I see why. $76 for that, and it wasn’t refundable? Never again.

My company put me here, unfortunately, and I’d never stay again. There was no heat, burn marks on every surface, and cold air came through the door because it had no weather stripping. The fridge leaked all over the floor, and the fire detector was hanging off the wall. It was dirty and didn’t feel safe at all. This is a drug motel at best, barely a step above the street. Stay far away.
