I choose WoodSpring Suites every time I come to Charlotte, and it really feels like home. The building is new, the rooms are modern and set up well for long stays, with a cooking range and refrigerator. There’s lots of storage, the AC and heat work efficiently, and shops and coffee are easy to get to. Even though it’s near the airport, the windows keep the rooms very quiet. The staff and management are friendly. Highly recommend it as a long-stay option near Charlotte Airport.

I came here because the Charlotte weather was bad and the roads were awful. I knew it might be a questionable choice, but after only a few hours I'm already worn out. The staff downstairs were nice, and I do like that there's a bathtub instead of just a shower. The walls are paper thin. I can hear people walking upstairs, and the wall behind my bed shakes when they move around. On the other side, I can hear people talking, partying, and the TV clearly enough to know what they're watching. The hotel is new, but the rooms have cheap IKEA-style furniture, which would be fine if it were quieter and truly smoke free. It smells like Black and Milds and weed from the elevator all the way into the room. I'm asthmatic and have needed my inhaler several times since arriving. There's a deposit too, which wasn't disclosed when I booked online. I'm debating checking out and sleeping in my camper van since it's quieter and smoke free, but it's icy and below 20, so I haven't. Honestly, pay extra and stay at the Hyatt place next door. It's dead quiet there. Hotels should enforce their no-smoking rules, maybe even with a ban in a system. People smoke in too many hotels and don't consider that others nearby may have real health issues.

At check-in I was told there were new fees that hadn't been disclosed when I booked online and still aren't listed on the website. They said the fees had started the day before I arrived, with no notice to guests. I didn't have the extra money for those surprise charges, so the hotel refused to let me stay and kept half my payment anyway. I did not cancel the reservation. I paid in full and shouldn't have been hit with undisclosed charges at check-in. This feels intentionally misleading and deeply unfair. There was broken glass all over the parking lot, which made me worry about safety and my vehicle. I also saw multiple recent reviews mentioning theft, which is concerning. Expedia has apparently had major issues with this property too, because of poor management and misleading conduct. Customers and booking platforms are losing money over how this is handled. Before booking, look closely at the sudden appearance of “good” reviews and read between the lines. I would give zero stars if I could. Avoid this hotel, and protect your money, car, and peace of mind. Read the reviews carefully and don't ignore the patterns.

This was my first stay at WoodSpring extended stay, and the service was excellent. Check-in was quick and convenient. I think the front desk employee's name was Erika. She made sure I was well taken care of, went above and beyond to meet my needs, and did it all with a smile.

The room was clean, and the employees were professional at both check-in and check-out. The neighborhood seemed safe, and the hotel itself was nice. I was in town for the ACC football championship and didn't spend much time there. My only complaint was the third-floor hallway, which smelled like marijuana smoke.
