Athena Inn Chattanooga

My stay was good, but the staff weren’t. Booking the first room was easy, though I wish we’d been given the option to use booking.c for cheaper prices. When I came back to book another night, a different host seemed skeptical about everything I was doing. I could only afford one night, but even though I had money, I was treated like trash. They were rude on my last night, when all I wanted was to book one night at a time. On the day I had to check out, I waited a couple of minutes for someone to come to the desk, and he said he was working while I needed to check out. I hope I get my money.

The room was clean, and the shower was clean and upgraded. I was only there for less than 24 hours, so it was a decent stay for me. It’s five minutes from the airport, with plenty of places to eat nearby, and the price is a good deal for what you get. The place has potential if they upgrade the right things, and it was clean and quiet. What spoiled it was seeing a roach run across the TV stand while I was watching TV. I also didn’t like the $100 cash deposit: they inspect the room before refunding it, and if you lose the receipt, they keep the deposit.

We found three roaches in the bed, and there were others on the walls and in the shower. The sheets, pillowcases, and comforter were stained, and noise from outside was constant. We checked in Friday and were due to check out Sunday at 10, but left at 11 p.m. Saturday after finding roaches in the bed. The shower was AMAZING. That was about it.

The room was very clean, nice, and well maintained, and the price was the best around. Staff were attentive and very friendly. The location is great and makes it easy to get to everything Chattanooga has to offer. I’d recommend staying here.
