Extended Stay America Chattanooga Airport

We’ve been here about a month while saving for an apartment, and my fiance and I love it so far. The staff are sweet and accommodating, the room is clean, and everything works. It isn’t a 5 star hotel, but the people are what make it great. There have been no issues, and it’s bug free. They have after-hours help if something urgent comes up, and the guests I’ve met are pretty nice, so it doesn’t feel hostile. It’s set back from the main road, which makes it feel safer and more comfortable. Compared with the other hotels we stayed at before coming here, this is the best in the area.

The location is hard to beat, with plenty of restaurants nearby and Hamilton Place Mall and the Chattanooga Airport only minutes away. There are lots of accessible rooms, and they’re very pet friendly, though some guests don’t clean up after their animals, so watch your step in the grass. For the price, you get what you pay for and a little more. Service is always friendly, and the rooms have the essentials: a clean bed, hot shower and working bathroom, full kitchen with dual stovetop, microwave, and full-size fridge, flat-screen TV with limited cable, free Wi-Fi, and clean sheets and pillowcases on request. There’s also paid laundry on site.

For the price, you might be tempted, but expect no breakfast or maid service, and no fresh towels or linens. We had to switch rooms repeatedly because they hadn't been cleaned or something in them was seriously wrong. The staff member who leaves the desk before the lobby closes also gets angry when asked for help, and we've since been harassed by that same person, Miss hackler. I've seen the stairways cleaned once in three months, and walkways, stairs, and the parking lot are rarely cleaned, which isn't great for kids. We also had a room check where staff walked in without permission. Laundry costs $4 to wash and another $4 to dry, and staff seem to keep the machines pretty occupied. There are no ashtrays, but staff still scold and swear at people about messes, including guests who had nothing to do with them. The cars on the freeway are loud, though you can get used to that, and there's no elevator. Internet is decent, but costs an extra $22. Remember that using hotel Wi-Fi can be risky, so have good antivirus software.

The staff were nice, and the price wasn't bad for one night. Still, there wasn't a single free extra: no shampoo or soap, no paper towels, and not even coffee in the morning. Maybe complimentary coffee would've earned them four stars. Check the reviews before booking.
