Hampton Inn & Suites Chattanooga/Downtown

It's a seven-minute walk to the aquarium, and the rooms were clean with what we needed. The gym was well stocked, and there's a heated pool. But with the construction, signs are scarce and getting around is a pain. Housekeeping uses the only elevator, so it can take ages to arrive. We often took the stairs, which felt a little unsafe without signs, especially since one staircase exits into an alley beside a dumpster. Staff friendliness was limited, with just one attendant who was welcoming. Breakfast was hit or miss, and there are only four tables, so we often ate in the pool area. Parking was congested, with people squeezing in wherever they could. This might be a better hotel once construction is done and both elevators work. As it is, and probably even later, we won't stay here again. I wouldn't recommend it until the work is finished, apparently in February 2026.

Jatasia at the front desk saved the day when my wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown. I'd arranged for flowers to be in our room, but they weren't there when we arrived, even though the florist said they'd been delivered. Jatasia took time to check the hotel next door in case the delivery had gone there. It had, and my wife was thrilled to get her flowers. It's rare to see that kind of customer service. We're grateful she cared enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

The location and staff were wonderful, but the rooms weren't clean. We found bed bugs on the first night. We were there because our daughter's college softball team was staying for a tournament, and several girls were covered in bites and had to move rooms. There is definitely a bug problem at this hotel. We stayed in February 2026.

The location is great, and the room was nice and clean. Room 328 was marked handicapped, but the restroom had no grab rails and there was only one rail in the walk-in shower. It was also a long way from the elevator.
