La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chattanooga Downtown/South

Gabe at the front desk on the night shift was so patient, gracious, and kind. We got back frantic and exhausted on our last night, and he calmly explained things and made sure we were looked after. We’d been working a convention and stayed two nights, coming and going early and after midnight, but always felt welcome and cared for. I’m very thankful for him and hope he’s having a wonderful day. ♥️

We were in town for our anniversary, and the hotel went out of its way to make the stay special. The front desk staff were very kind both when we checked in and when we left. I didn’t catch the checkout worker’s name, but she was so sweet. Our room was clean and the amenities were nice, and there are a couple of bars and good restaurants an easy walk away. Parking costs extra, but I was okay with paying for it. I’ll come back whenever I’m in Chattanooga.

Getting to this downtown La Quinta can mean dealing with some traffic, but parking was easy once I arrived. It costs $18 a day, which isn’t unusual for downtown Tennessee. The place felt new and was very clean, and check-in was the smoothest I’ve ever had at a hotel. I’d recommend it.

The website says parking may have a fee, but the lot charges a flat $18. There’s also a $25 dog cleaning fee plus $20 in tax, which took my $112 room to around $180. When I said I’d never paid for parking at a La Quinta and would rather cancel, the desk clerk told me I’d still owe $133 for the room if I left because of their policy. Weekend street parking in Chattanooga is free, so I parked on the street and decided I’d skip this hotel on my next stop there. These two charges need to be listed on the website.
