La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chattanooga-Hamilton Place

I was in the area for a memorial and chose this hotel so I could stay where the other attendees were. I usually use a different chain. The room was spacious, though the airflow was poor and the front of the room was hotter than the back. Over my 3 or 4 nights there, I had to get my keys reactivated several times, which was frustrating. The stay was decent, but I can’t say I’d recommend it.

The hot water in the shower may have been the best part of the stay, a 10/10. The fireplace advertised on the website turned out to be misleading. We were told we could buy our own wood chips to burn, wow. When we arrived, the living-area light in our room wouldn’t turn off. Staff said it could be permanently switched off, but they’d have to break it. Louis at the front desk was helpful and informative, and we were moved to another room the next morning. Some staff could be more patient with guests and give clearer information. Breakfast was okay for the price. I’d give the stay 5/10 😊

We’ve stayed here before because we like LaQuinta when traveling with our little dog, and we’ll be back for our yearly meeting, which is unrelated to this stay. Jay was terrific on the earlier night, and the housekeeper I met was friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff were nice too. Fresh coffee is available 24/7 and is really good, and the woman who seems to be head housekeeper is a jewel. This night was rough. Starting around 10:30 p.m., the neighbors stomped, laughed, talked loudly, and slammed doors. I heard a “whoop whoop” too. I called the front desk three times. Around midnight, when I thought they might settle down, they started using the bathroom, showering, thumping, shutting doors, and making the pipes (?) noisy. The clerk said she tried to locate the noise. The night before, Jay had politely texted guests that it was quiet time. I suggested doing that, but the clerk said she’d been told not to. At 12:22 a.m. they were still stomping and using the bathroom, and at 1:15 a.m. they were still at it. I’m writing this instead of sleeping. Earplugs give me a headache the next day, so it’s no sleep or a headache. If people can check in that late, they should be told to keep quiet. It’s wrong to let guests keep others awake half the night. A.M. of 11.28.25 update. The earlier visit was 11.27.28, with no issues.

The room was spacious, clean, and just what I expected, and breakfast was very good, especially for a free meal. I also liked that the hotel welcomes pets, even though I couldn’t bring my dog for other reasons. The front desk person was phenomenal: polite, professional, helpful, and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.
