Residence Inn Chattanooga Near Hamilton Place

The hot tub and indoor pool were fun, even though the pool felt a little too cold. Maybe they could turn up the heat in the pool area. We also liked the spacious room, full kitchen, and fireplace, which kept the living room warm. The little TV really needs an upgrade, though, and the bathroom was dated. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. This was a last-minute staycation choice, and I’m glad we picked it. We’ll be back.

I rarely write reviews, but this stay gave us plenty of memorable problems. The staff made it feel like we were a nuisance for being there. When we reported things, we were told maintenance would come, but nobody did. Later they said nothing could be done. The sleeper sofa came with no sheets or pillows. The front desk found sheets, but apparently there were no pillows available. The shower faucet wouldn’t seal, so water sprayed everywhere, and the tub didn’t drain, leaving about four inches of water during each shower. Outside, a tree scraped the window all night and sounded like squeaky brakes. There was also an outlet halfway out of the bathroom wall. The fitted sheet on the king bed seemed too small and kept coming off whenever we moved. The ice machine was broken, and the pool was nice but usually had no towels. If you like a peaceful stay without problems, this probably isn’t the place. If you don’t mind chaos and plumbing hassles, there’s always something to wonder whether it’ll work. I’d only come back with my own pillows, tools, and a sense of humor.

The price was great for what you get, and I’d consider staying again as a budget option. It’s a bit out of the way from downtown Chattanooga, but worth it for the cost. The service made the stay easy and comfortable, and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, but it did the job.

Sam at the front desk is what makes these long stays feel so welcoming. He greets us with a real smile when we come back in the evening and goes out of his way to make us feel at home. The Hamilton Place property is always clean and comfortable too. As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member who spends weeks here at a time, I’d put this among the best Marriott stays I’ve had. Sam is a real asset and deserves recognition for his hospitality.
