Collette was kind and helpful from the time I booked, and she was just as welcoming in the breakfast area. She kept fresh food coming until breakfast was over so everyone could eat, and the other staff we met were friendly too. The room and bathroom were nice, but the floor had large crumbs and what looked like animal hair, so it could have used a better vacuuming. The bed was firmer than I prefer and bothered my hips until I found a comfortable position. We’ll probably stay again, though I’d like cleaner floors and maybe newer mattresses.

The only thing I would have liked was a bit more desk space away from the TV. The room had a refrigerator and microwave, and the built-in USB charging worked quickly. The shower was roomy, its sliding glass doors felt sturdy, and hot water came right away. Getting off Interstate 64 was a little tricky because of traffic, though that’s not the hotel’s fault.

The place was very quiet and extremely clean, and the staff were honestly some of the friendliest I’ve met. There were plenty of pillows, hot water, and even gluten-free options. The sheets smelled like bleach, so bring your own if that bothers you. I’m picky, and I was very pleased.

Colette, the front office manager, was a wonderful woman and the main reason I’d return. She took good care of me, and I know I’d be looked after again. My room was on the highway side; the traffic could be heard all night, though it didn’t bother me. The rooms are clean, but there’s still room for improvement. I need to get the receptionist’s name too, because she was great.

Everyone was generous and kind during our return stay at Fairfield in Chesapeake. Collette helped us more than once and was especially thoughtful. We found the room comfortable, and breakfast offered lots of good choices.
