We stayed here a little over three months while between housing. It wasn't great, but at least we had a roof over us. We kept to ourselves, and the front desk was always kind. My complaint is about what happened after the stay, and I still want my money back. We later learned that Virginia law treats stays over 90 days as rent, so taxes shouldn't be charged. The taxes we paid were refunded as a credit for about two weeks, worth over $1,000, which was fine. Once we found out we were moving, praise God, we used only a few free days before checking out in December. I asked for the rest of the tax refund and was told it had been sent. Weeks later, when I called, I kept hearing it was a corporate issue. Corporate has no phone number. I filled out their forms, got told to call the location, and the location blamed corporate. It went in circles. After months, I asked my bank whether it could help. They tried to file a claim, but I guess the hotel said it never happened. The staff seemed annoyed whenever I called, even though they knew I'd requested this back in December. I tried corporate again this past spring and got nowhere. I still can't reach anyone there. Five months later, I'm out over $800 in tax money. That's a lot to pay in taxes alone, especially when this is Virginia law. I've contacted legal advice because I shouldn't have been treated this way. I was respectful and stayed out of trouble the whole time. They were kind during the stay, but this system isn't okay. You can't just keep money you're not legally entitled to. If you stay over 90 days, make sure to ask for the taxes you've already paid back. They have to give it to you, but they won't unless you ask, and even then you might wait five months. I'd be upset too if someone owed me money and kept it. I never usually leave reviews, but this is overdue, and I don't want anyone else in a tough spot to be taken advantage of. I'll change my rating once I get my money back. I had no major issues otherwise.

The sheets get changed every week, and the rooms are tidy. Prices are reasonable, the basic utilities are provided, and the location is really convenient. I'm very happy with my stay in Town Suites.

The rooms were dirty, and paying extra for a premium room didn't get me one. The online photos are fake. Housekeeping is advertised as weekly, but that isn't true. Front desk staff had no people skills and came across unpleasant and unprofessional. This place is horrible, and I really wonder how it stays in business. Stay away.

I heard what sounded like two people fighting in the parking lot, but I didn't open the door to see. That was on top of an already stressful stay: the front desk was hard to deal with, the after-hours number was no help, and corporate never got back to me. I prepaid and my key still stopped working. I wouldn't stay here again. At check-in, the woman said there was no housekeeping and no refunds. I shouldn't have prepaid. HBO was advertised, but unavailable. She said they were working on it, but wouldn't say when it might be fixed. I'm guessing they weren't actually working on it. The room was in poor condition, with a bent door and gaps at the top and bottom corners that made me feel unsafe, as if a good thief could get in. They wouldn't give me another room. I had to buy soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, and towels, though those were supposed to come with the room. The sheets were dirty, and the staff were rude and lied. They didn't seem to want to be there. I've stayed at three other hotels on this street and gave all of them five stars. I'd give this one zero if I could. Shame on you, intown.

The front desk staff seemed nice at first, and the property manager stayed friendly throughout. Our problem was with management. One issue came up and was partly resolved, but a couple of weeks later I found a notice on the bed saying we had to leave. During a nightly walk-through, the manager said she'd smelled a strong weed odor outside my room. She hadn't knocked, or she'd have known nobody in my room was smoking. I used to smell it coming from the maintenance guy's room, though, and that seemed to be fine. It felt like favoritism. During our long stay, the water was also shut off randomly for hours three or four times, with no notice. They need better communication and less favoritism.
