Dave and Elizabeth made us feel right at home, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. The house is full of charm, with thoughtful touches everywhere. Breakfast was homemade and served with care, from scrambled eggs and crispy bacon to muffins, creamy yogurt with berries and granola, fresh orange juice, and delicious coffee. The vintage china and embroidered linens made the table lovely. One memory we’ll always treasure is choosing our baby’s name while sitting with our friends on their peaceful porch. It was a meaningful moment. Dave and Elizabeth are warm, gracious hosts, and we can’t recommend the B&B enough.

We were worn out and looking for somewhere to sleep after a hurricane cancelled our vacation, and I’m so thankful we ended up here. We hadn’t planned the stay. The Inn is like a museum, with so much to take in that you’d need several days to appreciate it. We stayed in the spacious, comfortable Memphis Room. Breakfast was far more than we expected. Dave’s blueberry pancakes were a dream, and the bacon was world class. Elizabeth and Dave have fascinating stories, and we could have spent all day at their beautifully set dining room table listening to Elizabeth talk about their lives and how they came to buy this B&B. The stay fed us physically, mentally, musically, and spiritually. How often do you have to hug your hosts when you leave? Thank you, Elizabeth and Dave, for your gracious hospitality and for staying true to why you bought the house. If you enjoy historic homes, amazing stories, hearty Southern breakfasts, music, or a peaceful night in a comfy bed, the Inn Upon Moon River is for you.

Dave and Elizabeth were welcoming and engaging hosts, and we had some excellent conversation over a delicious breakfast. Our two night stay was brief but enjoyable. The rooms were large and super clean, and the blues memorabilia gave the place a wonderful ambiance. The B&B is a clean, comfortable place with friendly hosts. Chester offers small town hospitality and quiet comfort just a few short miles from the chaos of Charlotte or Rock Hill. The town is chock full of beautiful old homes. Highly recommend it.

Elizabeth’s breakfasts are legendary, with the kind of home-cooked food that leaves you not wanting to eat for days. She also handled our family’s food needs well, including one gluten-free person and one vegan. I’ve stayed at Inn Upon Moon River four times with my two adult daughters, and each visit has been a delight. The house feels quiet and deeply peaceful, and we slept deeply and well. It’s decorated thoughtfully around Dave’s love for jazz, and each bedroom has its own distinct, elegant feel. Elizabeth and Dave are warm, accommodating, and easy to work with. We were welcomed into lovely rooms, passing the dining room where coffee, tea, wine, and snacks were available. I’d highly recommend this B & B and hope to return soon.

There are comfortable sitting rooms and a porch where you can pass the time, and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Dave and Elizabeth are kind, know what’s happening now in Chester, and serve delicious food. If jazz is your thing, this is definitely worth a visit. The house is decorated with music inspired art and memorabilia from their club. Enjoy your stay!
