Comfort Suites Cheyenne

We slept well and were back on the road by 8:30 after a breakfast with plenty of choices. The two queen beds were comfortable, the sheets felt fresh, and the pillows were so nice. Our room was clean and roomy, and traveling with our two dogs was easy since nobody questioned their size or breed. I think the pet fee was $25, though I could be mistaken. The place was quiet, clean inside and out, and reasonably priced. There was some water on the elevator floor, so I guessed there might be a pool, and other guests sounded like they were having a good time.

The kids liked that the pool was actually warm, and breakfast was good too. We had plenty of space in the suite with our family, and the rooms are spacious. A clean, modern place in a safe area, right off the interstate. A very nice stop in Cheyenne.

We left without staying and booked another hotel. The room had a blood mark on a pillow under a thin pillowcase, black bits of hair throughout both beds, more hair on a mattress, and no mattress protectors. I know housekeeping can miss things, but I wanted a clean bed. The front desk attendant apologized and said the cleaning staff had all quit over Thanksgiving weekend. I called her several times as I found more problems; she eventually came up with comforters in a blue bin, but said there were no clean sheets or protectors. We asked for a refund since we hadn't spent the night and didn't feel comfortable there. She said she'd check with her boss, then called back about 20 minutes later to say no refund was possible. When I asked if anything else could be done, she yelled that she couldn't leave the desk and that we could leave if we had a problem. I told her that was unprofessional, especially from someone representing the company. We packed up and went elsewhere. I hope we can get our money back. I booked through Priceline, and everything seemed fine at check-in, but when we came back after dinner and checked the room before bed, it was clearly not clean. I should've paid more attention to the reviews, including another one-star review from less than a week earlier. I wouldn't book here again. Look elsewhere.

The pool was a big reason we chose this hotel, so finding it freezing, with the AC blasting in the pool area, was a real letdown. Our room also showed obvious signs of not being cleaned properly when we arrived. We expected better and wouldn't stay again based on this visit. I hope they sort these problems out for future guests.
