My Place Hotel - Cheyenne, WY

The room itself was nice and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d assumed that with a stove, fridge, and microwave, we’d be able to prepare meals, but there were no cooking supplies, utensils, or dishes. The toilet paper was harsh, too. It was noisy, with planes, trains, and dogs barking.

We booked and paid online for three rooms six months ahead, but at check-in they didn’t have the room sizes we’d reserved. After hours, we accepted a smaller room and were charged extra for it. We paid for three rooms but ended up with just two, and one wasn’t the right size for our group. They also didn’t put us together. We asked many times to speak with management, but apparently the manager is only available on Wednesdays. The man who was there most of the time was rude and had a loud, swearing argument on the phone while my family was in the lobby. After we left, we realized we’d forgotten a box with more than $100 worth of items. They told us they don’t contact guests about left belongings and automatically throw anything found away. They said they’d thrown our box away, and I’m sure someone took it without reporting it. The property is right by the train tracks, so there was noise. The full kitchen had no stove, just a coffee pot and toaster. For two nights, the air conditioner sounded like a jackhammer.

Brian at the front desk was welcoming, kind, and full of useful information. The rooms were cozy and spotless, and they even greeted my dog with a treat. It’s hard to believe the place is this nice for such an affordable price. One of my best hotel stays.

We loved the clean, quiet, spacious room and the excellent staff. The full-size refrigerator was a favorite, and I even saw staff vacuuming the laundry room. The front desk made us decaf coffee. There are good areas to walk dogs, though be careful around the back because the ground drops steeply down a hill. Highly recommend!
