Ranger Motel

The rooms are dated, though ours was clean, and the bathroom looked like it had been remodeled recently. The water pressure was great. The AC was a bit worn and confusing to figure out, but it worked in the end. Parking is tight, with only one spot that would work if you're towing a trailer.

The room was tiny, the walls were dirty, and the bathroom looked like something from a horror movie. The towels were damp and more like shop rags. At least the maids were friendly, and we made it through the night. They apparently won't let me post the photo of the bathtub because it looks so bad.

The motel is wedged between a busy road and very active train tracks, and checkout is 10am, an hour earlier than everywhere else. If you ask, the owner might extend it to 10:30. The owner isn't friendly, and checking in isn't pleasant either. The rooms feel stale, and the pillows and linens smelled dusty. The heater never shut off, so falling asleep with it on meant waking up sweating in a sauna. The bathroom window wouldn't close. Pets and service animals aren't welcome at all. Sometimes the cheaper choice isn't better. Here, you don't even get what you paid for.

It's probably the cheapest place around, and the rooms are small, dated, and have old fixtures. Still, nothing was dirty or falling apart, the bathrooms worked perfectly, and the rooms were always clean. The staff were great and helped with anything. It's a basic, budget motel in a prime spot near gas stations, stores, and the saloon. If you're after a low-cost stay or a good location, it could suit you.
