Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Magnificent Mile

Being so close to the Magnificent Mile was a big plus. Our room was roomy and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and I enjoyed spending time in the lobby. We had a really nice stay at Chicago's Courtyard by Marriott.

The conference setup worked very well for the legal convention I attended. The rooms for meetings were spacious, modern, and had what an event of that size needed. My own room was quiet, spotless, and comfortable after long days of panels and networking. I travel often for legal conferences, so I value things running smoothly. Check-in was easy, and the staff stayed courteous and accommodating throughout. From the front desk to the restaurant, people treated me with real professionalism and hospitality. I also appreciated the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for a diverse group of professionals. The Marriott Downtown impressed me on both service and facilities. I'd recommend it to legal groups planning a convention or other organizations arranging a corporate event.

James at the front desk was especially kind and accommodating on 11/22/25, and everyone else was nice too. The location is great, though the room was just okay. For the price of one night, I expected at least a couple of bottles of water, coffee, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and lotion. They only provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Maybe housekeeping forgot the other items, but the front desk staff made up for it.

The staff were friendly, warm, and helpful, and the hotel was clean and surprisingly quiet for such a busy spot. Its location just off the Magnificent Mile makes it easy to walk to pretty much anything you might want in Chicago. The restaurant was convenient and reasonably priced, though the food was nothing special. There's a Starbucks in the lobby, but ordering in person can take a while since about half the orders are mobile. Use the app unless you get there right at opening. My room was the downside. The layout was strange, with the TV off to the side of the bed, and it felt almost like a storage space had been converted into a room. The door opened outward into the hallway, which I understood wasn't up to code, and there was an old-fashioned chain lock that felt odd for this brand. I wouldn't want that room again. I didn't take pictures, though I should have. If you stay, check your room layout at check-in.
