Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago

The gym was clean and had a good range of machines and weights, which you don’t always find. Our room was spotless and impressively spacious, with great views of the skyline. Hotel Riu Chicago is right off the Magnificent Mile and close to everything. A fantastic stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

We stayed five nights, and the cleanliness was top notch. Everything around the hotel was walkable, and we also tried the trains and buses for the experience since we had a toddler. Breakfast was included, with a great buffet and different servings each day. We checked out late because our flight was later, and a taxi was already ready to take us for a flat rate of $55. From the moment we arrived, Noah, their Bell Hop, helped carry our luggage from outside all the way to our room. The check-in desk welcomed us warmly, and the service was amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I’d stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a refrigerator, coffee machine, and a large bathroom. The mattress and pillows were just right, and I slept well. The shower pressure was incredible. At breakfast, there was a wide choice at the buffet, no long wait to get in, and the service was friendly and efficient. The area felt safe and was easy to explore on foot, with good restaurants and shopping nearby. Prices felt reasonable for what you get. I stayed at Riu Plaza Chicago this past January and loved the location, atmosphere, check-in, and breakfast. It’s definitely my new go-to hotel in Chicago. 💙

The rooms were spacious, nicely designed, quiet, and clean, and the inside felt up to date. There were plenty of elevators, so you weren’t always waiting. The breakfast was great, with a very European buffet style. We stayed for restaurant week and loved it. The location was great, with plenty of nearby parking garages if you want to rent a car. My only complaints are that there was no valet and they wouldn’t let us take a coffee to-go from breakfast. I thought that was kind of weird, though at least there’s a coffee maker in the room and free bottles of water. Even with those odd points, this was probably the best place I’ve stayed in downtown Chicago.
